I run about 2800 rpm in 3rd @ 75 mph when loaded and about 2500 rpm @ 70 mph. Highways in New Mexico are fairly flat with a few dips and slight elevation gains for the most part and once you start climbing into the mountains you tend to be going about 50 mph or less. If I had to guess it'd be...
I swapped out my stock trans cooler for an aftermarket one that's about 2.5 times as big using the write up on here. Running 35s with 3.73s I am still able to tow just about anything and that's going up into New Mexico high country. I also put a corvette servo on my trans and I really feel like...
Sorry that I am barely responding to you guys! I hadn't noticed I had any new comments in here!
Thanks bro I appreciate it a lot. They are the Pacer set off Summit with clear bulbs in them
Haha that is a compliment. Go for it my man!
New Mexico definitely has some beautiful places. We are lucky because most of the state is public land as well. It's pretty crazy because most of the state doesn't have very good cell reception either haha. You might have 4g in one place and drive ten miles and have zero service for the next 130...
Only pic I got from my elk hunt this last weekend on the way out. Truck did great. We were up at about 10,000 feet elevation and my neighbor's 06 Chevy actually burnt up the trans pulling the trailer I am hooked up to on the way up. You go from 4500 feet to 9500 feet in about 14 miles so there...
Yeah man my dad was a big time camper shell guy haha. He was pretty upset when I took it off. Yes sir I was fifteen in 2009 and here in NM that's when you can start driving!
Thanks man. I was had the hardest time deciding between going 37s and staying on 35s. It has a rubber seal that goes right around the back window so the actual camper shell doesn't fit flush against the cab. It is old man. My dad had it put on in 98 like three months after he bought the truck...
Recently I replaced my tires. I went back to the Hankook AT/Ms since I loved them when the truck was stock. I'm running 315/75/r17s. They have been great once again. I also had my whole front end redone and replaced my gear box last month. Other than that there haven't really been any updates...
Make sure it's a 4x4 because the two wheel drive axles are more narrow. Mine came from a 99 2500 4x4 and it had 3.73s. It's just the luck of the draw with the gears
You're the man driving 60 miles a day on 38s. I cry about 200 miles a week on 35s lololol. I respect that a lot. I have always been told it's better to be over geared rather than under geared but with your highway driving I'd probably say 4.88s
