Passenger tire rubs but not driver?

Since you're in LA there's probably a million places to go for an alignment on a lowered truck, but just in case...fair warning...just about every where else it's not always so easy. There are knock-outs in the upper control arm mounts that will need to be removed if they haven't before. An...

"Black Betty" '95 GMC step side

It's a '99-up 1/2 ton master cylinder which firms up the pedal. I hate the long, squishy pedal these came with. It's pretty much a bolt-on deal, you just have to massage the lines a little and use one adapter fitting. Overall braking seems to the same, but I think using the later model...

Here's how she sits today, waiting for a heart transplant.

"Black Betty" '95 GMC step side

Last week I had a solid back glass installed and this week 20% tint all around. This might be the last good update while I'm waiting for the salvage yard to find a lower mileage 5.3L pullout.

"Black Betty" '95 GMC step side

She aligned perfect after the drop and rides smooth and quiet...better than factory I think. I did upgrade the master cylinder to a later model to take care of the soft pedal. I'm also planning for a dual-diaphram booster and larger calipers with drilled/slotted rotors. Stops just like it...

"Black Betty" '95 GMC step side

I had these steel wheels laying around and picked so I painted them black, put on some new Cooper 225/75/15's and found these NOS GMC center caps.

"Black Betty" '95 GMC step side

The camper was the first thing to go. Then she needed a little height adjustment. 4/6 with MCG spindles and about 3/4 coil cut, Belltech flip kit, shock extenders and Monroe 32186 shocks.

"Black Betty" '95 GMC step side

I picked up this old man special a few weeks ago to use as a shop truck/parts runner (really) and part time daily driver. It had 140k easy Grandpa miles and the camper shell to prove it :).

    The Shock Thread

Thought I would drop this here for anybody else cheap and resourceful like me. These are the 2013 Monroe shock specs, filtered by the correct rear shocks and mounts for a 1/2 ton 2wd. I personally used 32186 on a 4/6 with a notch and lower shock extenders. The "LS92" mounts works also, but is...

Price for replacing front end parts

I have my own professional shop, lifts, tools and commercial parts pricing and I would allow $500 for good parts and about 12 hours to do absolutely everything myself and do it right. I'm not as fast as the pros but they would still need a full day. Not trying to discourage you but it's one of...

red_barron, that takes me back to this truck I had over 10 years ago, it was a '92 and red despite the pic.

    cut coil help..

I agree, if you plan to cut more than one coil the ride will suffer quite a bit. Combine that cut with a set of spindles, it may seem expensive but it's money well spent.
