    TBI to HEI

Ok, instructions on new mag pick up distributor, were WRONG!!!! They say, take the 2 wires off your old coil and disregard, you will not need them. (BULL) The 3 wires coming out of the mag distributor, 1 goes to positive on coil, 1 goes to the negative on coil, the third goes to ground. You...

    TBI to HEI

Ok, took the HEI back, and bought a magnetic pick up distributor. Super simple, right, they make their own spark. Installed it tonight, along with the coil that goes with it. Three freekin' wires, one to positive side of coil, one to negative side, and one to ground. Guess what? No spark...

    TBI to HEI

True, it's the ECM. That's why I went with the HEI, it's totally independent. It bypasses so to say, the ECM. I guess today I need to pull the coil from the HEI, and Google a test to see if the brand new Accel has a bad coil. I doubt it but I'm at a loss. Ok, what is an EBL? IM NEVER TO OLD...

    TBI to HEI

With the TBI, the timing is controlled by the on board computer. The ECM. The cam I'm using, wants 30 degrees of advance at 4000 RPM. Way beyond the scope of the stock 230 HP ECM

    TBI to HEI

As you can see, I've double checked the ignition for a ground. Even set the old TBI up, plugged it in and put power to the coil, just in case the computer, or the neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal needed to read something I tapped into the original power wire that ran to the old coil...

    TBI to HEI

, I've read it somewhere, I think it caused a problem between a few members, but I can't find it again. I went from a coil and stock distributor (TBI) , to a HEI with the coil built in. As ya'll know the plugs are completely different. I changed over the POWER and TACH wire, and have them in the...
