Breaking yard etiquette. Discussion debate personal views please

Few years ago I was looking for a radiator for my Tahoe and I saw a couple idiots punching holes in radiators with their screw drivers. I asked what was the point and it screws over people looking for that part. They just walked away, that being said I always try my best to remove a part...

    Lets see some dropped C1500s

Welcome from Sherwood park Alberta, I did a Belltech 2/4 drop but also clamped my leaf springs (which dropped the back a couple more inches) to combat some axle wrap issues until I get a new set.

    Daily truck pics

Thought I’d post a “when I got it vs where it’s at” photo(s). first photo is July 2020 when I picked it up. Loooong list of additions, issues corrected and things replaced or modified. As you might be able to tell I’m not a big “factory rebuild” guy.

Hey Guys I Need Help Quick

That makes sense, the one I got from the wreckers was missing the screw cap so when I adjusted my min idle after resetting my iac (tracking down the vacuum leak) it wouldn’t start with the (iac) port plugged.

Hey Guys I Need Help Quick

Shouldn’t affect driving power as it just lets air in while the throttle plate is closed(unless it’s not seated properly on the throttle body), I would guess that relates to the fuel system or a faulty sensor/injector under load, did you replace the fuel filter? I can’t remember off the top of...

Hey Guys I Need Help Quick

Also if your throttle body still has the plug for the throttle body installed you can skip 6-8 in the steps.

Hey Guys I Need Help Quick

This is the relearn procedure for the iac, snagged it from another thread when I was diagnosing a vacuum leak.

Hey Guys I Need Help Quick

Grab the side of the throttle plate (where the cables connect) and try moving it back and forth, if it moves that’s an issue, happened to mine. Also you can plug the IAC port on the back left side of the throttle body to check for vacuum leaks, truck shouldn’t run or start if there’s no vacuum...

    High idle, hard start, etc

Vacuum leak may be the cause of the high idle, (when things rattle around from driving it may be shaking something loose) I tracked down one I had recently and it turned out to be the oil catch can I had put on a couple years ago (my idle was sitting around 1400). Good way to check if you have...

Need Help with DRL Wiring for New Headlights!

Connect the drl to an ignition source. Then they will turn on with the ignition and the headlight bulbs will only turn on when you turn them on. To add to the signal circuit you would most likely need to wire in a relay and splice into the signal wire but that may be more complicated than it’s...

    Tail light/ brake light woes

Seems like the lights are connected to the battery and bypassing the ignition source. The blinkers and tail lights are on the same circuit as the dash lights and running lights in the front, if it’s the same as my truck. I’m guessing there’s an issue ahead of the fuse box that’s causing the...

    305 TBI Header (?)s

I guess the info on headers I came across proved to be inaccurate then, good to know!

Can I repair this? Window channel/mount.

If all else fails a good “temporary fix” would be shoe goo. I use it for little things like that. Seems to do the trick and it’s a super strong adhesive. No complaints from me. It should at least get you through until you find the proper replacement. Just give it enough time to fully cure.

    305 TBI Header (?)s

Check out the Harris tuning website, soooo much good and thorough info on his site about building these engines. Harristuning.com As far as headers, going with the shorty is similar to the factory power range and long tubes give better top end power. I did mid length headers and a mild cam...

    Unusually high oil pressure

I’d do that just for good measure, they are around 8 bucks depending where you get them from. If it is contributing to pressure build up, super cheap fix, if not still super cheap and easy to replace.

    Drunkcanuks build...... finally!!!

You should upgrade your steering shaft, I did mine and it made a huuuuge difference in how it feels. Bolts right in super easy.
