    MA - 99 Overland Tahoe

Up for sale is my pride and enjoy! This is for a heavily modified 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, built as an Overland vehicle. This truck was sponsored a few years ago for a 3 month expedition across the US, covering 14k miles. Unfortunately I no longer have the time to wrench on it, but it has been an...

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

Personally --- I would do a direct swap for the 3/4t setup for the series your truck is. If you have a GMT400, swap for a GMT400 and then you don't have to worry about the setup working with your vehicle. When I did mine and built the parts list for everybody, all the parts were from a 3/4t...

    swap/upgrades to front calipers

I can't speak to the NBS MC, but I would not put the 2500 calipers on a 1/2t brake system...braking distance will go through the crapper. I did this and you can see by the measured stopping distances it is a bad mod. If you plan on swapping the MC, Booster (vacuum or hydro), PS pump...

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

TY - glad to hear it worked out!! That whine, any chance the hydro unit is being starved of PS fluid? I don't think it would whine due to air in the brake system, but it's always possible.

    swap/upgrades to front calipers

Apologies, I missed the replies on this. There is a ton of bad and dangerous information in this thread...modifying the brake system on a 3 ton truck is really serious business, please make sure you know what you're doing before modifying it. Remember, Chevy / GMC spent millions of dollars...

Rough Country 4"/6" kit install tips.

On your 98, you probably have the np246 transfer case. Are you running a stock from driveshaft or did you get the double cardan version? A stock driveshaft is notorious for causing vibration is trucks lifted 4" and higher that are running the np246.

XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade (88-94 Trucks) 95+instructions on page 31

Makes sense. I have a '99 Tahoe and I've been considering hacking off the Rag Joint and simply installing the Flaming River U-Joint # FR1746DD. However, I have a serious concern using just set screws when you add in larger tires and offroad abuse. So I've been thinking of through bolting...

    Custom LV416 Trailer + Extras

This trailer is currently in NJ, but can be delivered throughout the US. I recently used this trailer on a 3mo expedition across the country and it performed flawlessly both on the highway and offroad. It provided ample storage and even though it's built like a tank, it was easy to manage...

    Demand for a 1.25" Lift

I can see the value for guys that want to tuck 33's and don't want to crank their torsion bars; good idea.

    Don's Yukon

Hey Chris! I'm waiting for Don to find this and read his reaction. But then again maybe he'll just hit me at the Rausch event next weekend. It's kind of like a photo bomb, but on a forum!

Realift Relocators - Install + Review

Here's a picture of the Z71 transfer skid plate a friend shipped me. Once I relocated the torsion bars, my transfer case was left unprotected and quite vulnerable. Nice and easy solution to that problem!!

Realift Relocators - Install + Review

If I had to guess, I'd say around 5k. Most are highway, but I beat the heck out of the suspension @ Rausch Creek and they held. My disclaimer is that IF chevy/gmc put it there, so should you. I haven't tweaked anything yet from not having it in there, but I am looking to fab up a new piece...

Realift Relocators - Install + Review

A quick update. I have a Rough Creek four wheeling under my belt with the relocators and couldn't be happier. Structurally they are solid and not having the torsion bar cross member hang below the frame was invaluable!! Once my front diff crossed the obstacle(s) it was a nice change of pace...
