New and have questions about 95 K1500, more questions

Just switch over to some plug and play LED tail lights. I had three different brands of circuit panels in the back and they all burnt out. It’s always over heating at the same point of the panel.

New and have questions about 95 K1500, more questions

It sounds like a connection issue. When you replaced the bulbs some of the harnesses could have lost contact, or the individual pins in the sockets I have the same year and I’ve had my fair share of issues. I’d start by cleaning everything off and put some dielectric grease in with the bulbs...

    Fuel pump access panel

I’ve replaced my pump once, but had to replace a fuel line, and a seal within the past three years. I will admit the idea is unorthodox, but the amount of time it has saved me was precious. Also, I’m a survivalist. Being able to swap parts, make repairs, and all as quickly as possible is...

    Fuel pump access panel

I highly recommend you coat it with Chassis Saver when you do. Mine looks brand new underneath years later.

    Fuel pump access panel

I just have to say, this thread legit has been one of the best thing I’ve come across. About 3.5 years ago I did a bed off restoration of my rear. I bought a new bed and when I put it on I made this access panel.

    weird electrical problem; reverse lights

That’s a little confusing there. Ain’t gonna lie. Your pink wire should be for the brake lights, your lighter green wire should be reverse lights, and your ground should be black. Should have a brown wire in there as well. And darker green and yellow for turn signals (I’d check these in relation...

    Scan tools launch teach

Pretty nice. I still debate getting a scanner, but every time something pops up I end up just pulling my trusty paper clip out to get my codes.

New guy, first post and it's not a good one

Get a good lawyer. I can’t recall where, want to say Michigan, maybe Minnesota, but there was a case very similar to this were a woman went in to her local garage for a tire change. The tech swapped out the tires and put the lugs on, but did not tighten them. Needless to say about a mile down...

    Aftermarket K1500 LCAs?

Roger that guys. I always go performance when possible. I’ll definitely post some pics. I can still post some from previous projects as well, but I’ve lost a lot since changing phones. ‍♂️

going with a carb'd small block

Do you mind me asking why you want to pull the electronics? I did this with my wife’s Ford and being honest.... %$&@ that. If you’re going to strip the electronics I’d buy a whole new basic wiring harness and rewire it so it’s simple and you don’t have to worry about any corroded lines. I’d...

New kid on the block with some ??'s

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. The power steering, heating issue, etc aren’t that bad to fix. Skylark got it right on the common issues. Especially those intake manifolds. The only other thing I’ve found to be common, but commonly misdiagnosed is the ignition wiring harnesses. I’ve...

    Aftermarket K1500 LCAs?

Thanks guys. That makes perfect sense too. I’d rather switch over to the forged arms anyways and I’ll just buy up my other parts through Moog. I’m still going to rebuild the front end just because I’d might as well at this point. Going to add in a steering damper as well.

    Aftermarket K1500 LCAs?

Makes sense. So all I need to do is switch over to the 96-00 model comparable and change out my ball joints. I need to change out my tie rods and adjusters anyways. So might as well rebuild it all at this point. I really need a vacation and a lift. Thanks for the info. It’s super helpful. Not to...

    Aftermarket K1500 LCAs?

Got ya. I was under the impression from research that the 96-00 LCAs wouldn’t fit. ‍♂️ Thanks internet. Much appreciated for the info.

    Aftermarket K1500 LCAs?

I’m not even finding them on eBay. Contacted a bunch of suppliers and everyone pretty much says good luck. I know they’re not considered a normal wear part, but this is one of the joys of owning a truck that spent almost 20 years in Pennsylvania winters. Worst case scenario I’m think I might get...

    Aftermarket K1500 LCAs?

Hey guys, I’m new and I’m just gonna dive right in. Forgive me if I missed this, but I’m looking for after market Lower Control Arm options. I do about 95% of my own repairs, but no lift leaves me at the occasional mercy of the shop when redneck ingenuity can’t save me. That said, I think my...

    Chicago born redneck.

Hey guys, like the title says, born and raised in the Windy City, but about as redneck/hill billy as they come when it comes to my trucks (and guns). I came across this forum some time ago. I own a ‘95 K1500 w/350TBI that I got when my Pap passed away back in 2012. This truck is my pride and...
