    Valve Seals!

more than what? if you lubricate "more", what will become of the additional oil? it will destroy the guide and allow more lubrication which destroys more. again, cast guides are the way of the dinosaur. a good thing you can do is contact AV&V. they are in canada and got their act together on all...

    Torque converter bolts

may be best for you to trailer it to a shop. if you have engine ready to pull, except mount bolts, it should be really cheap and will (should) insure no damage to transmission or converter, or even engine and other.... figure an hour labor to have the engine sitting on the trailer. dont try to...

    Valve Seals!

you would have cut the guide for the seals at the same time you cut the head for the valves and springs. there is really nothing extra to do as you were doing the setup for the other components anyway. im guessing the recipe you followed is one of those "it'll work" deals. valve geometry...

    1999 GMC 2500 5.7 Knock from Hell....

i would look closely for signs of silicone sealant. being as it was just in the shop and resealed. some folks take shortcuts for profit and use sealant on gaskets and that sealant turns loose and gets sucked into the pickup for the oil pump. letitsnow has great point too. i have seen the ol...

    Valve Seals!

who's valves do you have? those orings arent used on the more modern valves, as they have mostly gone to the press fit seals. the older style seals work for the older type valves and guides because they wear quicker and have higher tolerances which would destroy the newer type seals. cast...

    Valve Seals!

positive seals are best, they press on to the guide, which may need machining for fit. there are cutters available that are inexpensive and easy to use. but if you are having a machinist set up the heads for your needs, he will cut the guides while he is at it. i think this is what mr grimace...

EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pads - Worth It?

actually i was talking about technology from race cars being great for the street. as in trucks. trucks have higher weight to stop or slow. trucks haul loads, requiring better brakes to slow or stop, and to dissipate the heat quicker. trucks tow, requiring better brakes for slowing or stopping...

    02 sensor

biggest problem with the bosch is rednecks going to autozone and getting the cheapest one available, the one that requires splicing in (even includes the butt splices). i used bosch on my dyno for the wideband sniffer, and rarely had to replace. throwing it on the floor, contaminating, knocking...
