transmission not up shifting

I have a K3500 7.4L and the other day it started to not shift out of 2nd and then 1st. The speedometer started going 'wack'. So I'm hoping it's something easy like the speed sensors. I will just order both. I'm assuming it's a 4L80-E. I haven't looked yet.

Slight surging between 65 & 70 mph - overdrive shifting in and out?

I get up to 65mph on the highway and try to slightly accelerate and between 65 & 70 mph I feel the truck surging like it's going in and out of overdrive. The transmission fluid was recently changed and it did the same thing before. It seems to be fine when it gets over 70mph. I can get it up to...

TBI to carb swap - will I get better mileage?

I have a 1994 Chevy K3500 w/454 and 4.56 gear ratio 4WD I want to use for towing and hauling tools in utility bed. Would I get more/less power and/or more/less gas mileage with a carb swap? I get about 10mpg highway now. Would it be worth the trouble?
