    Door lock question

That's not a bad idea, my only issue at the moment is I have absolutely no idea which model I have to even find a manual for it lol. I'll have to take a pic of the module and see if I can read a number off of it, unless I can find the book for it somewhere. I'll try that tomorrow also

    Door lock question

I looked everywhere last night for a relay coming off the alarm module, the only place I didn't check was inside the actual door yet so I'll have to look there tomorrow when I have time to take the panel off. And as for the manual switch on the doors they have full strength unlocking and locking...

    Door lock question

So on my 98 ecsb k1500. 4 years ago I bypassed the factory keyless and installed a viper alarm myself. For 3 years it's been perfect. About a year ago the key fobs will only unlock the doors and disarm. But when you arm it, it doesn't lock the doors. You can hit the lock switch on either door...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

Yeah I went back to the OE style one I had but brand new, its listed as a 1.125" bore which is 1-1/8. It stops perfect now. It's soft but it's always been soft on these abs trucks. Everything is brand new now and I have a lot more knowledge of hydraulics than when I started this crap a month...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

Also just to verify when I'm bench bleeding a master cylinder, the OEM style 1-1/8 one, every time I bleed this style the primary port spits fluid straight up out of the reservoir like a solid stream. Every single one I've bled. Is that normal? All my reman cylinders did the same thing but it...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

My soft pedal was a combination of the 3/4 ton caliper upgrade requiring more fluid to push than my master cylinder could deliver, and my rear shoes being completely thinned and sitting off the wheel cylinders. With everything replaced and ive already adjusted them properly. its different than...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

Pretty much what ive gathered is all the upgrades suck. As far as Oem style m/c theres a 1" and 1-1/8". Im assuming mine already had the bigger of the two being an extended cab.

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

I understand entirely what you're saying, the biggest issue is no one states this on any of the "quick brake upgrade" posts and throw people into the problems blindly. You have to go 15 pages into a post to find this kind of information or get lucky someone like you responds. i already figured...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

That's the exact route I'm fixing to go. Run the old style lines, a proportioning and call it a day.

I thought the same thing but, i put brand new original style calipers back on, still doing the same thing.

Nah I tried another module from a friend of mines parts truck. Still doing the same thing. Done with it

Yes bottom two are m/c inlets and the top right is rear out, top left two are front outs. I'm about to call it a day and pull the module out and run my own proportioning valve. I'm done with this bs

But that's only gonna push more fluid to the rear. Which is only beneficial to rear wheel discs.

Sorry phones being junk, says low memory when I take a pic, hold on

Proportioning valve where? There is none on this year truck. The lines go straight from the m/c to the abs module, then out the module straight to the wheels, as far as I know everyone says the proportioning valve is built into the abs module

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

Yeah but that's just the abs side of it, what's causing the brakes to still have a tad bit of sponginess that won't allow it to lock up. Everyone said the 3/4 ton calipers bite harder yeah tried that, and tried the 02 m/c. I put the old calipers back on and it does the same thing so it's not the...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

I'm not worried about the wrong calipers because even the rears won't lock up, with brand new factory rear brakes other than the drums themselves. I just switched the abs module from a 95 and redid all the bleeding and the pedal is way more firm now but if you slam the brakes it stops it just...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

No spacer, I said I tried to make a longer rod just to see if the old one was short but it held the m/c off the booster so any length adjustment is rendered useless. I kept the factory rod that came with the booster in. These boosters aren't adjustable. And I specified it's a m/c from an 02'...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

I pulled all the plugs from it basically disconnected everything from the module except the brake lines and it still does it. Only when the truck is on.

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

It's not my first time doing drums. I had brand new shoes so obviously they are tight at first but you back the adjusting screw until the drum can slide on and then push the ebrake pedal a few times till it auto adjusts to where it needs to be. With the truck off the ground, put the truck in...

Changed EVERYTHING, brake pedal still goes to the floor.

So I have a 1998 K1500 5.7. To start this off, I got a brand new brake booster 3 months ago before all of this which still works perfect. Now a few weeks ago i figured i'd take a shot at the caliper upgrade, swap a tahoe police pkg(8 lug k2500) calipers on and everything bolts up good even got...
