    MSD StreetFire Ignition

It was a present from a couple of years ago so I figured what the hell... And I do like the extra umph I get from it. The truck does also seem to run better with the exception of when the ICM burns up, like right now... ha

    MSD StreetFire Ignition

Hello friends. Here's my issue: I installed a MSD StreetFire ignition box on my 1993 K1500 about 2 years ago now and have been steadily eating though ignition control modules every 6-12 months ever since. It will first start with the engine dying for a half a second and then coming back to life...

Talk to me about Pro Comp.

My Pro Comp 6" is a full 6" drop.... or at least it's 6" from where the drop bracket bolts to the frame to where my LCA bolts to my drop bracket. I do have the new style though so idk if it's any difference from the old style as far as the actual lift height is concerned.

Anybody have Pictures of a just a 3 inch body lift on 35's or 36's

I'm usually not a big fan of body lifts but that looks damn good!

    Cognito Upgrades

GM went from a 2 bolt idler arm to a 3 bolt idler arm in '93.... To the OP, I was looking at getting the Cognito idler/pitman support kit too but, from what I understand, it's only really "needed" if you have a knuckle lift since a drop bracket kit has a drop centerlink which is usually...

    Suspension Upgrade

Yes it is. I don't have one yet but I have driven a friends truck that has this mod and it is worth every penny. It's next on my to-do list. Make sure you read up and get the right shaft though.

    Suspension Upgrade

IMHO, get the Bilsteins and don't worry about the dual shock setup for the front.

    WIll 37" tires fit

Yea wheels will matter... On the narrow side with a good bit of backspacing. There's a guy on here (I think... maybe on another forum) with an OBS 2-door Tahoe with a 3" BL + crank running 36x12.50x16 TSL's on 16x8 steel Cragar's with 5" backspacing. He didn't need any trimming except to the...

6" RCX is on its way! help me decide 6"vs. 9" on 35s

Since you're not going bigger than 35's, yank the BL off. It's what I would do at least....

Look for a 6 lug 14 bolt... Bolts right in and will have the same lug pattern for your wheels.

1998 Z71 Ext Cab Daily Driver Build sugestions Please Help.

Just crank 1.5"-2", get shocks to match (Bilstein 5100's are awesome btw), and get a zero-rate AAL like what Offroad Design sells for the rear to match. Also, consider getting a tune and/or regearing to help your truck handle the 35's. If you have 3.73's, then I'd just get the tune and call it...

    suspension lift question

Don't get the RC 3" kit.... it's an overpriced crank. Crank your stock keys and get shocks for 2"-3" then get a zero-rate AAL for the rear from Offroad Design. A zero-rate looks like a lift block but actually bolts to your leaf pack making it an AAL.

Yea 315's can work with stock wheels and a crank... Would look great with a 4" kit too. Both of the following trucks are just cranked and cleared the 35's.... 315x75x16 on stock "blades" (16x7): 35x12.50x17's on NBS steelies:

1998 Z71 Ext Cab Daily Driver Build sugestions Please Help.

yea... RCX 4" and 6" are the same kit. The 6" comes with a rear AAL and you crank the front to level with the rear to gain the 6" lift. The 4" you leave uncranked and it doesn't come with the rear AAL. Both kits drop the front diff ~5.25". For the rear though, I wouldn't even mess with the...

1998 Z71 Ext Cab Daily Driver Build sugestions Please Help.

If you were to do a 6" lift with stock wheels and 35's then it'll look like it has a decent "gap" between the tires and fenders but if you get the 4" then it should sit pretty sexy IMO.... I've thought about dropping down this particular setup many times recently but after how much $$$ I've...

1998 Z71 Ext Cab Daily Driver Build sugestions Please Help.

It's all good. We're here to help. 315's (35x12.50x16) are about as wide as you want to go with stock wheels although dcZ71 (the guy that commented before me) put 37x13.50x16's on his truck with stock wheels and a 6.5" suspension kit and it looks like tits. The RCX 2"-3" kit is basically an...

:word: 4" RCX with Realift relocators (if you want to stay lower and keep it stock looking) and 315x75x16's on your stock wheels would be awesome looking. You could clear 315's on your stock wheels with just a bit of crank though but you might rub the frame when you turn.

    F44 Suspension Question

Hmm learn something new everyday.... I didn't know that about the pre '92 stuff. If it's out of a 2500 square body then it's going to be an 8 lug axle as well.

    F44 Suspension Question

Your bearings, rotors, spindles and cv's are the same as the F44 package... swap to 2500 calipers, get a 6-lug 14 bolt for the rear, and you're good to go.

    Z71 rearend question

Pretty sure all this was already cleared up in this thread at different spots.... Nice to have it all in one post though  Side note... Yes, 2wd lift spindles do widen the track width, but don't they basically widen it to right around a factory 4x4 front width?
