    I found a gauge cluster from a 93. I love the tach. My dad would have loved that. I couldn't tell if the bulbs worked until it was dark. I plan to swap them with leds anyways.

    So I've gotten in some parts. I have some nice mid legnth headers and a y pipe to fit it from flowtech. The headers are ceramic coated but the y pipe wasn't. I painted it with high temp paint and I'm going to cure it in the oven (hope I don't get yelled at. Haha)

    Ac noise?

    Mine was cycling at a rhythmic rate. On 5 seconds off 5 seconds. It just seemed wrong to me. Now it's staying on for a long time and is running me out of the car it's so cold.

    That's what I meant. It's weird because a few people I talked to told me it was normal for it to cut on and off. Now it's staying on and the ac works a lot better. That's how I expected it to work myself. I appreciate all the help.

    You were right. I'm guessing that it's some kind of safety switch. Pressure is too low and it cuts the compressor off?

    That's what it was. I bought gauges today. When it was kicking on and off there was a clear drop. I put 2 cans in it and now it's the Arctic in here.

    Around here folks steal catalytic converts all the time. There's tons of metal recycling places that buy them.

    you can remove it and install a high flow from what the shop told me. I know of a guy who does exhaust work out of his garage nights and weekends. I know he will do it. I'm just not sure I want the headache of dealing with inspectors.

    This shop does amazing work for very good prices though. They did a dual exhaust on my 73 el Camino 19 years ago and it's still working with no leaks. They just don't want to alter a vehicle from one cat to 2 I think.

    Virginia. I think basically they were saying they would only do from the cat back. I'm going to find another shop to install 2 cats and then take it in for an exhaust. If it's already there I'm 95% sure they will install the exhaust I want.

    I got the tranny cooler installed. I didn't like the "mounting equipment" that came with it. Basically 4 zip ties that you feed through the ac condenser. I made my own metal brackets. I intend to make something a little more professional looking later but it works and doesn't look too bad.

    The ac works fine. Someone tried to tell me that it's designed that way to prevent the compressor from freezing up. Either way it basically clicks on for 4 seconds off for 3 or 4 and back on. It does this the entire time the ac is on. It's very rhythmic. I'll try to get a video of it later.

    i have a feeling this is a stupid question but here goes: When my ac is on, there is a constant mechanical noise. It's like the compressor is being engaged and disengaged constantly. It seems normal but is there any way to smooth it out? I can feel it in the engine even, every time it happens...

    Yah. My original confusion was regarding the y pipe. I thought the exhaust shop was saying they couldn't be altered when in fact they were saying they wouldn't modify it to an h or x pipe. I can put headers, a new mid pipe, a high flow cat and everything back and be totally legal. I'm fine...
