Instrument Panel stepper motors?

If its the gas tank ground wouldn't that cause the fuel pump to stop working as well? If the weather holds till the weekend i'll have a look at it. Fearing doing sender unit, may was well do the fuel pump too while its all opened up. On the off chance the gas gauge on this junkyard cluster is...

Well, swapped out gauge clusters and the odometer, at least these old style ones are easy to work on :P No more vibrating needle, but the gauge still does not read correctly, jumps to different spots between 3/4 tank and full, reads proper when i fill her up down to 3/4 tank, the its anyones...

Instrument Panel stepper motors?

Thats encouraging, I'm in Canada as well, Manitoba. Managed to pick up a used cluster from the wrecker so will give that a shot this weekend. If not does anyone know how to set/program a new step motor? playing around with these old coil-bound motors there doesnt seem to be a stop inside -_-

Instrument Panel stepper motors?

Hi all, I'm fairly new here and could use a bit of help.I can't seem to find an exact part number for stepper motors for the instrument panel, particularly the gas gauge. I have a 98 Silverado, Automatic, 4x4 shift on the floor with the 5.7 V8. Gas gauge has been "vibrating" for quite some time...
