    Front end rebuild question/suggestions

Erik the Awful I'm not entirely sure what they did, I let them know I wanted my 97 to drive STRAIGHT and properly, I wanted higher quality parts, I found out while my truck was being worked on, that shop doesn't do alignments, so they drive it to one of 3 nearby shops that do alignments...

    Front end rebuild question/suggestions

So far I'm looking at approx $700-$900 worth of parts, not including the steering box which I have yet to decide on. I'm not entirely sure if I should go ahead upgrade the bearings, or replace with ac delco gold inner and outer bearings. I'll have to check the control arm bushings, I was...

    Front end rebuild question/suggestions

I've actually got your whole thread saved for sometime, figured I could widen the spectrum of parts. What's your rough estimate on what you spent on your front end rebuild? I know the gearbox has to have some kinda slop, as they went through 3 refurbished boxes until I decided for a new one...

    Front end rebuild question/suggestions

But in theory, if you replace everything with good "quality" parts, you'd think it drive a little straighter and be a little tighter. I'm not looking for a 90s truck to drive like a 2020.i just dropped another 4k on my 96 for u joints, new distributor, and some rear end stuff.

    Front end rebuild question/suggestions

Truck is a 96 3500 2wd drw, 7.4... Looking for suggestion on higher quality parts to do my steering and rebuild my front end/steering. I had my 97 c2500 done at a shop with off the shelf parts and a Cardone box, everything that showed wear, had the slightest play was replaced with what I...

    97 4l60e 2wd trans issue

It's at the shop now, transmissions are one thing I don't really like to mess with, as it usually gets expensive pretty quickly if not fixed properly. I would hope they flushed the radiator/trans cooler, old converter stayed, as the guy from the gm parts department said mine should be fine. But...

    97 4l60e 2wd trans issue

Ok, it was bought from a GM dealership, with a GM parts warranty, who remanufactured it isn't of my concern, as it sold by GM, and has a GM warranty. Not sure if I was clear, but I don't expect the shop to warranty the parts, only if they were installed correctly. If the VSS was failing/failed...

    97 4l60e 2wd trans issue

Yes, it's a reman. I'll end up taking it the shop on Thursday if I can't figure out what it could possibly be. Failing PCM in most cases would throw a check engine light, correct? The trans came with a wiring harness jumper/update, shop said it already had the update/didn't need it. Just curious...

    97 4l60e 2wd trans issue

At the time I needed it for work and my dually needed some work, shop usually has a 3 week wait, but now that work will be slowing down a little, might aswell get them to check it out. One thing though, I took it to the shop specifically to replace the transmission, any other issues neither...

    97 4l60e 2wd trans issue

Been a member for a very long time, lost password so new account. I've searched plenty of different posts (even the stickies) trying to figure out what could possibly be going on. Truck is a 97 light duty 2500 (1500 with a 14bolt rear), replaced the transmission with a brand remanufactured...
