    350 cam options

Wonder if with a tune this could still pass smog...? Doesn't seem like a huge difference to make the ECU wig out.

    99 5.7 vortec build advice

I need new cats too, with a similar build, should I upgrade to the k2500 manifold back system on a fresh 350? I don't plan to put in headers because my luck with them has been bad and leaky.

    Need a little advice

Gents, I'm in the process of fixing up a '96 K1500 with a 350 to drive daily. I'm done with brakes, steering, and suspension, so I am turning to power mods. I'm thinking bolt-ons as I have to deal with smog testing in Nashville. My goals are to have 250- 300 whp and pass smog. I have a...

    Fuel Pump Recommendations

I have my truck bed off to have it dipped and needed to replace the fuel pump anyway (that's what started this whole disassembly). Since the fuel pumps seem to be a weak link for the Vortec's, is there a standard recommendation? I plan to do some engine modifications (cam, headers, intake) so...

Anybody got a set of old bushings lying around?

I'll look at it this weekend again, I went ahead and ordered another set of bushings...from looking at it, it doesn't look like any of the Energy Suspension bushings fit without the sleeves?

    Forest Service Truck Rebuild

I traded a friend a 1994 Miata for this monster. He wanted a convertible, I wanted a pickup...he got the better end of the deal initially, but I'm sure I'll make this thing nice! 1996 GMC SL K1500 Ex US Forest Service Truck 5.7L Automagic transmission 4WD Industrial Grade Ramsey Winch...

Anybody got a set of old bushings lying around?

I had my old bushings pressed off of my control arms (upper and lower, both sides) in order to put in the Energy Suspension stuff, and then realized that you need the old sleeves. Rather than buy another set of bushings just to burn them out, does anyone have any lying around they would part...

    Need help mounting a winch

That's where I am too. My truck is far enough apart that this isn't a bad option for me due to access.

    Need help mounting a winch

I'm curious too, actually. I have a 8000lb Ramsey winch that I want to mount as well. I thought about using a center mounted box and cutting the factory bumper and welding it to the box. (Kinda hard to explain) I think your bumpers are chromed, where I don't mind if mine is body colored or black.

    First Post: Rear Disc Swap

I don't disagree, but most stuff in junque yards around here is as bad as what I'm working on. So, I'd have to buy that, swap it out (pray the axle is ok), then deal with new calipers, discs, and pads. Not sure of the economics here...but I'll call around and see what i can get access to.

    First Post: Rear Disc Swap

First post from a newbie to the GMT400 world. I recently traded a friend for a 1996 GMC SL k1500 that was originally a Forest Service truck. It has 4wd, a fresh 350 with Dart Iron Eagles, and a 8000 lb Ramsey winch on the front of it. That's the good parts...damn near nothing else is good...
