    I have a 97 vortec 5.7. It idles high when I put it in gear drive or reverse put it in park or neutral it idles normal. What would cause this. I have not done anything to it other than alternator and idler pulley

    It was the fresh air side makes a lot of sense after air filter. I just never noticed that much air going thru passenger side valve cover. I have read a lot about it.I got it now. Thanks for the help on it. smdh

    The blow- by on my 96 5.7 is sucking air. I rigged a cigarette on it and it smoked it in 9 sec

    Loose hold down bolt would cause that letting it wobble back and forth when put under heavy load or racing. There is play between the distributor and intake. I would say almost a 1/16 if that. But that is enough to eat it up
