96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

I believe some vehicles like the single cab trucks don’t have the vacuum actuator but it connects to a PVC on the driver side of the engine and has a hard vacuum line that runs over the top, behind the throttle body.

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

Well I'm back and I still can't solve my heater issue. I replaced my T-stat which does seem to be operating better than the old one. I also replaced the temp sensor as well. The heater seemed to be blowing warmer and was reaching a steady 130F when cruising on the highway. But that was with...

1997 5.7 Misfire under load, bunch of parts replaced

Somehow I didn't see you last post before I wrote this.......Looks like you figured it out. I'll leave it up for someone else.

1997 5.7 Misfire under load, bunch of parts replaced

My guess is you're off by a tooth when stabbing the distributor or......Are you using the new distributor hold down bracket or the original one? The new aftermarket distributors come with a hold down that locks the distributor in-place and allows no adjustment. Need to use the old one so that...

    Front end slack

+1 on replacing the rag joint. Just replaced my idler, pitman and rag joint this week.

Possibly but it’s a brand new sensor as well. Just replaced it a couple months ago. I can try putting the old one it to see if that makes a difference. I don’t believe anything is wrong with it.

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

Using Dash Command to read the temperature coming from the sensor Yeah, I check my mode actuator and it seems to be working properly along with the others. Yeah I should have flushed the heater core this past weekend but plenty of fluid drained out and I didn't really see any sediment. Going...

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

No, I have not but I'm fairly certain now that all the air is out of the system. I did find that my quick connect was seeping out fluid so while I was at it I went ahead and replaced my heat control valve even though I tested that whole system with the solenoid and it all appeared to be working...

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

I can only assume there was a pocket of air trapped in the heater core after I replaced the radiator and hoses over the summer. My guess is that there wasn’t enough pressure in the current system to overcome the trapped air whenever I turned on the heater finally and the valve opened. I...

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

Update: No parts replaced. What I discovered was that my heater core was dry locked. I had replaced my radiator over the summer and of didn’t turn on my heater when I went to replace fill new antifreeze. Just had to squeeze the heater core hoses a few times with the truck warmed up and the...

1997 5.7 Misfire under load, bunch of parts replaced

I had a similar issue lately except it was the opposite of you. Would misfire really bad my whole 30 mile commute in the mornings and then run fine at lunch and my drive home. All I would get is P0300 codes as well. Ended up being my fuel pressure regulator the MPFI I installed a few years...

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

FYI, I decided to unplug the heater control valve vacuum tube that goes to the solenoid and my heater immediately started blowing hot air. Previously I had only tried unplugging the vacuum line from the engine to the Solenoid and it made no difference. I tested the voltage going to the solenoid...

96 Tahoe Heater Only Blows Warm Air

Hey guys, I'm a bit stumped on this one. My heater is currently only blowing warm air out of the vents. I do not appear to have any coolant leaks that I can see inside or outside for starters. My radiator, upper & lower hoses, temp sensor, and thermostat were all replaced in September. The...

    Oil pan gasket

I recently did this. I basically removed the 4 front diff bolts so that it would drop about an inch or two and stay in-place, then I removed the drivers side motor mount bolt and that was enough to jack up the motor to remove my pan. I was also replacing my timing chain and cover. DO NOT use a...

    Water in cab of truck

I currently have a leak as well and of course mine is in the worst possible location. But there's a few spots you can check - Like most have said the cowl screws (2 of them) are directly above the air box inside the dash and water will look like it's coming out of the box if that's you issue...
