4l60e cycling in and out of lockup

98 GMC Sierra 383 engine 3.73 rear end With my new rebuild, I added a valve body with all of the sonnax upgrades and a 4.3 torque converter (DCNF 1800-2000 stall). It cycles in and out of lockup when cruising with light throttle. If I give it a tiny bit more throttle, it will stay locked. I...

    Oil pressure gauge reading low

98 GMC 5.7 has approx 140k miles... Oil pressure gauge reads almost zero at hot idle. I want to hook up a mechanical gauge to verify oil pressure readings since the gauge is reading low after replacing the sending unit. Will the engine run with no signal from the sending unit? I have read that...

Truck runs fantastic, then multiple misfire the next day?

Check distributor cap and rotor for your multiple cylinder misfire. My buddies truck was just acting like that after sitting for one week. There was water dripping off the contacts and the rotor center contact had a hole burned thru it

'98 K2500 surging at idle, can't figure it out

I tried all of that stuff and none of it made a difference in idle quality. If the op's engine is acting like mine was, it would stumble, then rev up a little, then stumble again even without spraying anything around it so I couldn't tell if it was helping or not. Maybe unplugging the TPS to...

'98 K2500 surging at idle, can't figure it out

Yes, where the intake cap mounts to the top opening on the throttle body. I disconnected the throttle position sensor after it was warmed up and surging. That will disable the computer from running in closed loop. It reverts back to the hard programming in the computer and mine stopped surging...

'98 K2500 surging at idle, can't figure it out

I recently had this problem also. Ended up being a vacuum leak where the intake cap attaches to the throttle body. Check the o-ring in there. Mine did not respond to propane either

    What's this connector to

How long have you had the header wrap on your headers? Mine lasted about a year before it rusted the headers out. Just replaced them with some ceramic coated Pacesetters. Surface temp while idling is 170 degrees
