I put 1-1/4" spacers on my 98 Tahoe to even out the appearance. 1" would have been perfect but the lugs are almost 1-1/4 " long and it would have required cutting the lugs off, I didn't want to do that. Worked fine 20x9" Ultra with the most back spacing available so they don't stick out...
Everyone should remember that in the 90s, at least, any GM color could be ordered by the dealer in minimum of 6 unit orders. As a result many strange combos came out ai addition to dealer installed lowering kit, wheel and tire sets, ground effects etc.
I have had AutoZone (Dorman) door pin kits last less than a thousand miles. I used OEM pins and bushings and they are still doing well at 3,000 miles. There is a company that makes better quality ones. https://cunninghammachine.com/heavy-duty-88-98-bronze-door-bushings-obs/ worth a try!
I used SEM 15883 Med. Neutral on my 98 Tahoe and it was a close match. This was from stock at the paint store about 5 or 6 years ago. One problem is everywhere I look inside there are plastic pieces that don't come close to matching the others. I redid my seats in Coffee leather from Katskin...
I had a 92 and 93 GMC pickup and dash clusters were repeatedly replaced under warranty because on of the gages seemed to always be non working or erratic. So in my experience the clusters are frequently non working. There are a number of repair shops that will repair them if that's the issue.
Nice looking hood (on a great looking truck) Do you know what brand it is or where you got it? Also did it fit well? Thinking about one on my Tahoe but some of them have an awkward shape to the bubble? on the hood.
That's probably because the fabric upholstery is probably glued to the foam. Ordered some foam from "the Seat Shop" in Texas. check them out on line or ebay. I had my 2 door Tahoe redone with Katskin Leather including the back seat and cost about $2500 including labor.
Bought a 98 2-door Tahoe in 2015 and paid $10,000 but it didn't need any body work or a paint job and except for a little wear on the drivers seat the interior including the carpet was perfect, Also only 116,000 miles on it so in the end it made sense because you could spend most of that...
Generally tires older than 7 years by date code will not be mounted or repaired by a tire shop. As someone who has had a front blow out on a motorhome at 62 MPH you DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN! almost a serious accident and $12,000 in damage to the coach. Do not risk any thing over 7 years old...
If you don't need a heavy duty truck the new ones are too big. I don't like the styling of the new ones with all the random creases in the body. And I don't like seeing another truck like mine at every stoplight. Also they don't make 2-doors anymore
