I think I done good. Picked up a full front end from a 98 2500 this weekend. A little rusty, but only 37k miles and new rotors/pads and shocks
And a full set of wheels/tires in great shape. 500 bucks.

For sure. We have no illusion that we're making a heavy pickup out of it. Just want to beef things up a bit under the heavier engine.
This is a just an around-town parts run type truck. Not much use for it, but it's what he wants.
I surprised. I always thought the 8 lug trucks had a little wider track and sat higher. But that's just based on appearances.
It sounds like a lot just to have the wheels match. But it all needs to be gone through regardless so if we're gonna do it, might as well do it now.

no worries about capacity. This is just my father's knock around/ tinker on truck. We have actual trucks to move stuff and we won't be selling this as a HD truck.

I have an 88 2500 (7200lb gvrw) 6 lug, 2wd truck. Already has a 14 bolt FF 8 lug rear.
I need to get the front 8 lug to match. What's are my options for getting this done?
I found plenty of info for going 6 to 8 lug on a 4wd, but not 2wd.
