'97 C1500 5.7 V8 Odd problem
Already had the game plan when first thought fuel pump. Had the pump and a buddy coming over to help drop the tank. All bolts already been sprayed with break-free. And had back up plan with dimensions to cut through bed if needed.- DocBernard

'97 C1500 5.7 V8 Odd problem
Quick info update.....this is a 1998 (Sticker said 10/97), GMT-400 K1500 (Cab is badged Silverado, bed says Z71). Air cleaner says "VORTEC" and vin decodes as a 5.7. Sorry for the confusion. spf1268, fuel pressure gauge on the way......wife was out and about so I sent her over to get it.- DocBernard

'97 C1500 5.7 V8 Odd problem
Ok, one more thing checked off with no luck finding issue. I have voltage to both sides of ECM1 fuse, so not that. I guess I'm going to have to go buy a fuel pressure gauge. Is there anything on the spider block plug I could check without specialty tools? Thank you for the diagram...- DocBernard

I went on here and found manuals for the 98......will those work for the 97? Were there any major or significant differences? I could not find any links for the 97 model. Appreciate the advice, GoToGuy, I found it helpful.- DocBernard

I can tell you I got sprayed pretty good when I cracked the line to check pressure after cranking it and letting it sit. Won't do that again.- DocBernard

Just coming back from parts store. Maybe Mass air sensor? It threw that code, but I never heard of a complete no start condition from a MAS.- DocBernard
