Cutting Control arm gutters

How much can I cut off the lower control arm gutters before it becomes an issue? Ive cut maybe an inch and a half off mine but Im still slightly rubbing, just curious as to how much more I can get away with. I drive a 94 GMC Sierra single cab if it matters

Quick introduction - 1994 GMC Sierra

lower control arm clearance

I recently got 17" rims on my 94 gmc and they rubbing my lower control arm, any suggestion on what to do next? I already cut piece of the gutters out and i was not having any clearance issues on my stock 15s but when i got some 17s i have clearance issues again. Hope that makes sense =)
