Ok. Thanks! Guess I'm going to take the plunge for all of us on the forum. I'll have to see where my finances lay and hopefully I can score that Momo steering wheel off of eBay that's on an auction and that would save me a bunch of money and I'd have a quick release steering wheel. NRG has a kit...
Thank you for the video ,but what if I wanted to install a custom steering wheel and not my stock steering wheel. Mine is sort of disintegrating. Do I have to take out the clock spring or can I leave that in?
Anyone know how to replace the steering wheel on a 96 K1500? I haven't had much luck in finding a video that actually shows how to replace the steering wheel on a 96 K1500. Has anyone done it before? Also what parts do I need to get as well? I'm looking at this steering wheel hub adapter. Is...
Oh no I meant that I used NiCopp line. I bought this from Advanced Auto https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/nicopp-nickel-copper-brake-line-tubing-coil-3-16-x-25-cnc-325/16190029-P. It's pretty easy to work with ,but I've had problems with flaring it where it will tear or crack.
Thanks! Glad to see that mine is not the worst. It was either this truck or a 87 K10 that was about the same condition with a plow ,but I didn't need a plow and the guy didn't want to take it off. It was 1200 bucks though so a good deal for someone though. My lines in front had been serviced...
I love going to the junkyard. It's cool just to look around and see what they have there. Sometimes there's some cool stuff. Not too long ago I went to a junkyard near me that had a gasser from the 50s there. Another guy and I spent a solid 20 minutes or so just looking it over. I couldn't tell...
Oh bending and flaring lines is super easy for me. I use copper lines. Easy to bend and flare! I'm going to take a look at that and see how much that is. I was looking at a brand new prop valve for a 80s truck so if it's about the same I'll probably pick it up then.
I'm going to give it another look ,but I followed this tutorial on bleeding the ABS system ,but I did not get any fluid coming from my ABS module so I think either there is a ton of air in there or my ABS just does not plain work anymore. Mine had a little valve to depress ,but no screw.
I'd love to see what stuff you've bought! I could probably get some inspiration off of your build threads. I hate it when people lie about stuff like that. It's not like you're not going to look at it before you buy it.
I actually like crank windows a lot more than electric. I used to daily a 78 C10 back in Freshman and Sophmore year of high school with the smoker windows and floor vents and that truck wasn't bad in the summer. I wish this truck had smokers windows and floor vents.
Nice! I love builds! I'm going through and this truck looks awesome! I really like the bed liner and olive drab. I was actually thinking about doing camouflage like with leaves and stuff to give it like a home made hunting blind look ,but I'm still super far away from paint though. I can't wait...
How did you do that? I saw that the adjustable ones don't work on these trucks with drums in the rear and rotors in front. I was going to buy a proportioning valve off an old truck at the junkyard or a new one online.
I tried bleeding it once ,but no fluid came out. Is there a better way to bleed the ABS than holding down that little valve while someone is pushing on the pedal? If there's a tool I could buy that would be great. I don't have a scan tool though to pulse it. That would probably be in the...
Well, that's good it's not the ugliest then. Glad I could get the door off on the driver's side. Bad thing is that I need to figure out what to do about the rocker since it's pushed in. I picked it up like this.
