    I am located in S/E Connecticut....by Norwich. I assume the Attleboro you speak of is the one in MA? At any rate a local junk yard got one in for me from out of state. Had it checked out(pressure tested/magnafluxed and all was well. I bolted everything back up and she runs great now.

    ....and while I'm at it.....the sticker on my fan shroud is calling for 0* BTDC.....are any of you guys adding some timing like 4*-8* BTDC and getting favorable results like I am.

    '94 K1500 I'm seeing 2 timing marks on my balancer. I saw a youtube video calling attention to this and advising to use the second or trailing mark(as you turn the crank clockwise) to set your timing and to find TDC. Didn't see this mentioned in my Haynes manual Is this correct?

    LB4 and L35 motor to trans bolt pattern

    Interesting.....the RPO code for the '94 calls for a 4L60E.....but it is clearly a different transmission than the 4L60E in the '97.....does anybody have any insight into this? Thanks Chuck

    Now I'm confused.... I assumed the inspection cover on the '94's transmission made it a 700R4 as it has the same motor to trans bolt pattern as say a TH350 the '97 motor and trans had access to the flexplate to converters bolts after removing the starter. Thus making the tranny a full bell...

    '94 has a 700R4 tranny (Partial bell housing) and the '97 has a 4L60E(full bell housing) Access to converter to flex plate is done after removing the starter

    In the middle of doing a motor swap of these two and discovered that the motor to trans bolt patterns are not the same on these two motors. Is the only was around this to swap the transmission as well. Other question I have is how do you unbolt the flex plate from the torque converter...

    '97 4.3 vortec into a '94 non vortec truck

    Not that I enjoy answering my own questions , maybe however a future "search" may help somebody out...... but it looks like the LB4 and L35 shortblock(cam specs however may be different) and interchangeable as they both use the same head gasket.
