    700r4 Help

Best bet is a cracked case. But there could also be internal damage as well. Get underneath it and see if you can find where its leaking from

    Trans help

A 97+ kit will be fine. I used 03 steels in my 3/4 clutch pack. A shift kit isn't really necessary. A vett servo, stiffer springs in the accumulators and you can enlarge the feed holes in the seporator plate for better fluid control. A wide 2-4 band will help for towing.

    Trans help

What are your plans for the truck? High horsepower racing? Towing? Or a dd? A good bit of the stuff listed wont be needed if it's just a 83rd or even for towing. I'd stay away from the 8 friction 3-4 packs. To keep the clearance within spec you have to install thinner steels which can't...

Make sure you put some of the trans gel on the funnel before you stretch the ring. And use the plastic from the bottle to slide it into place. Start from the bottom ring and work up

I didn't rip any of the rings that way. I wrapped them with electrical tape sticky side out. Cut the plastic about 1/8" shy of going all the way around. Make sure the rings are seated properly. Then I tightened the hose clamps. Had them on for about 2 days while I was working on the rest of the...

I just rebuild my 97 using this kit http://www.trutechtrans.com/TT4L60E-OHK19932003CUSTOWOR-Basket.html It's a little more expensive but comes with better parts. Also look for a new sun shell. Majority of the time they are loose or cracked. The "beast" shell can be found for around $60. Keep in...

The new wide band vs the stock Got the rest of the internals installed. Everything went in super easy. I was really surprised. Especially for the band. It slid right in. Had to used A #70 selective washer to get the end play to .016" it had a #68 and had about .038" Valve body and filter...

I have the atra manual as well as the gm service manual. And just read other peoples post about building transmissions. There's no black magic involved. Its pretty strait forward. Just make sure your clutch packs are at the proper clearance and follow the manual. Clean everything before you...

    my 4l60e buuldup

Thanks. It's really not that hard. I've removed several transmissions before, did a built 80e swap in my 700awhp 01 Sierra C3 so I'm pretty confident in my mechanical abilities.

I ordered the kit, assembly lube and a b&m drain plug as well as a universal spring compressor. Should be here this week. Still looking for an affordable bushing installer.
