Has anyone tried the "Wilwood Disc Brakes 140-10094-R" rear conversion kit? Summit Racing tells me this will fit our 97' Silverado. I would love to do away with those rear brake shoes if it does. :)

I shopped around for a Solus Pro with at least 14.2 software, but they are in the $600-$900 range. And that is for an unsupported device that only works with older vehicles. It might still be worth it if I only worked on this 97' pickup. But it already will not work on the wife's mini cooper. So...
It appears that 383 rotating assemblies are 3 to 4 months out. Jegs say their kits will ship from the manufacturer in a week, but I called Eagle directly, and they said mid-July at best. The engine builder I talked with said they have an engine that has been sitting there for 4 months they can't...
Hello everyone! I am putting our 97' Silverado back together, replacing the lifters and intake gasket for now. I had to pull the distributor and cycle the engine a good bit to adjust the lifters. Now I can get the distributor in ok, but I need to set the cam retard, and will need a scanner...
I emailed my shopping list to Jegs tech support to double check for me, and they flagged the Lunati cam in the list incompatible. It made no sense to me either. These are all great tips! Thank you so much. I will certainly adjust the timing chain to either the Cloyes 9-1157 Street, or the GMPP...
Stock Vortec heads, mpfi, and ignition. I am unsure what the final compression will be after the 383 bore. I had my eye on the Lunati CAM V262HR12, but they said it was for an LT1 and wouldn't fit a vortec...
Thanks for any suggestions.
Hello everyone! I am hoping to refresh our 97' Silverado 5.7 Vortec, but I am a bit stumped on the cam. I want something to get out into traffic as fast as possible, though rarely will be above 4k rpm, and no towing to speak of. A mild lope would be sweet, but I don't want to have to change the...
Thank you all so much for the replies. I was just in there replacing the spider injector and am not looking forward to sitting under the hood even more. I have had it for 18 years, and she has 249k on er now. I am debating on whether this is a good time to pull it out and refresh the engine...
Hello everyone! Truckie suddenly dropped low in water and I couldn't find any leaks underneath the hood or see water underneath the truck at the time. The oil appears clean. and no steam. Today I was working on the brakes and spied water running down the side of the transmission on the drivers...
