Wish I'd bought a new gmt400 back in the day and just hung on to it :( I turned 16 in 94, though, so by the time I could afford a brand new truck we were into the gmt800's for a couple of years

Paid $2500 for mine in May 2014 with 165k. Extremely clean and no rust (CA :D ). Drove a few hours to get it after looking at the ad for 3 weeks and the owner trying to get it smogged. Drove it home with Oregon plates, ordered $600 in new CATs for smog, air filter and oil was a bit more. DMV fees were $297 (had Oregon plates). So about $3600 into it as of right now. The engine has rod knock but keeps on going! An engine is in the shed waiting to be bored out to a 355 then I'll rebuild it and toss it in.

Me and my dad body worked and painted a foxbody mustang drag car for the truck, right around $400-500 in materials. Not bad for a good running truck with a rebuilt trans
