What kind of mileage do you get?

im really hoping for atleast 18, i had a 96 Z71 when i was 16 that hadnt been molested like my 97 Z71 adn i averaged 19.5 on a road trip, that truck was the opposite of a lemon though, it was a freak

I would kill for 19.5. Best tank was 14.2 with roughly 3/4 of that being highway. 3.42s and 285s is a terrible combo with a 4 speed.

i know of someone who a had a 98 2wd single cab, short wheel base silverado and if i remember correctly it had the 4.8 with a 5 speed and that thing used to get rediculously good mileage, like i think the best he ever got was 23-24 on the HWy

You mean 4.3... I can get 21 mpg with stock tires.

I averaged 20.5 with 5.7L vortec, 3.73's, and 245/75's on my last highway trip.

Just figured out my last tankful. Since the warmer weather has come and they went back to warm weather mixed gas, I picked up to 12.6 MPG. I'm pretty happy with that, once I take the cap off and clear all the crap out of the bed, I might be back to 14 again

Well just got 13.33 mpg...kinda sucks hoping to open up the exhaust a little soon..maybe it'll help
