1994 C3500 5.7 4L80 2wd. I try to stay around 60-65, most roads around here are 70 max anyways. I usually get 400-430 miles per a 30 gallon tank. So I average about 14 or so

Probably pick up another 2-3 mpg around 55 mph.

People really don't like 55, but its hard to beat when chasing mpg.

Drag and resistance are exponential and start the big hike right around 55.

55 also puts most stock-ish vehicles rigght in their highest efficiency zone.

I know if i drop to 90 kph insyead of 100, i pick up a nice jump in mpg.

I lost almost 4mpg going from 55mph to 65mph. My best tank was 18.8mpg, this last tank was 15.0mpg. Even going from 55mph to 60mpg, I dropped to 17.1mpg. It definatly sucks driving 55mph, but better gas mileage in these trucks is always welcome. Especially with these gas prices.

On a 99 Tahoe 4x4 with 3.73s and 265/75s, I got 17.8 on the highway a couple weeks back and this last one was 14.7 with highway (60-70 mph) and quite a bit of idling.
