You know, my bigger tires didn't make it read slower. I put my GPS in there for it to read and the speed matches up. Never had it adjusted either.

Anyhow, if I drive 60-65 MPH I'll get around 16MPG.

Same here, that is weird... my GPS is accurate to my speedo.... but according to math, my speedo should read 7.3% too slow.

I usually average about 16 mpg.

Best I've done in a V8 was in my 03 stang gt. Ran it from Montgomery al to spartanburg SC cruise set on 70 for the majority of the trip, hit atl perfect with very little traffic an it got 29.8 mpg for that run. I only stopped once for a potty break the whole trip.

My 07 classic with the 4.8 averaged about 18 mpg....

I'm getting about 300-320 miles per tank mixed highway & city driving in my 97' Z71. Truck is running 285/75/16 Kelly TSR's with 2" rear blocks & TB crank. Stock 3.73 gears & auto tranny. Only thing I touched on exhaust was swapping muffler & goin turn downs. Everything else on the truck is bone stock.

My old '96 K1500 got at best 21mpg on the 4 lane. This is holding a speed of about 120km/h (around 75mph). I'd let off to around 110 for any major hills. It was a 350 auto with 3.42s, 4wd. The worst I ever got was just over 15, loaded with around half a ton of firewood in city traffic. For the most part with country driving, some loaded and some offroad, I was in the 17-19 range. Man that truck was good on fuel for the work it would do.

My current '96 K2500 gets around 13.5, but I haven't calculated it on a long highway trip yet. That's mostly country roads, where I was getting about 18 with my old half ton. It's a 350 auto with 4.11s (has a cold air intake and a decent dynomax exhaust). I also only run supreme (91 octane, at around $1.45/litre at the local store, compared to around $1.37 for regular), and I don't have an overly heavy foot. My mileage drops a lot if I give 'er when I get going. Also passing new F-250s on the 4 lane cuts my mileage a lot, but is totally worth it...blew the doors off one the other day lol

That is insane... I'm lucky to get 260-70 miles out of a tank and have a similar setup as you.... ever calculate what the mpg is?

Never really worried about it. I just always fill my tank once a week till the pump shuts off, reset my trip & its usually right between 300-320 when I'm on fumes pulling back in to get gas. Sometimes I drop below 300 per tank if I have had my foot in it more but that is to be expected. I try to keep my foot out of it as much as possible which I'm sure helps & my normal drive is pretty flat too, I don't really have any hills to go up during my weekly commute to/from work. I try to keep up with the general maintenance as best as possible too.

Wish I had the funds right now to make a new smoother intake tube, finish off the exhaust & get a tune. Cant really think of anything else that could help out the MPG any more besides goin back to stock tires & dropping the truck back down.

Some may hate the mileage I get with my 398 rwhp 461ci BBC with a T56 and 4.56 rear gears. It'll get 17mpg on a straight highway trip, running 75-80mph and no concern for good mileage (A/C on, passing everything I can). It'll get 11mpg around town, driving it like I stole it. On the 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour, I averaged 14.3mpg for a 2800 mile trip in 8 days. That included two drag strips, sitting in construction traffic and Chicago traffic on two separate days with the A/C on max, and all city and highway driving over the 8 days.

Poopy:
I would think Karma is the story on my completely stock Vortec 5.7L K2500 8 lug ECSB with a fresh rebuild. It gets 8-9 around town and the best tankful I have seen is 11mpg. I bought a Vortec 5.7, expecting I wouldn't get big block mileage. I wish I would have just bought a 7.4L Vortec truck.
