Armstrong steering isn't too bad.
I actually prefer it for highway driving. More positive feedback through the S.wheel. Doesn't have that slight feeling of numb disconnection that power steering adds.
Just keep the truck moving, even just a little bit, when doing slow manuevers.
Non-power brakes can be a bit of a bear for panic stops, but learning to modulate them in average stop-&-go has a steep learning curve. After a couple of days, you won't even have to think about them.
Just be careful when you jump into the 400 afterwards! Use those power brakes in the same as the '69, & passengers will be kissing the windshield. Lol!

Well,I'm old enough to remember when all cars and trucks had Armstrong steering. And, the early American vehicles with power brakes had ultra touchy action. Lots of funny situations with inexperienced drivers suddenly jumping on the brakes.
