tires for stock rims

ya i did like that look

but those 36s wore out pretty fast and i was not gonna buy another set of them as they were like 350 a tire i think and i wanted different rims too

so i bought the 15s i have now out countrychevy15 and put 35 km2s on them now

that it does, i love the look now, but i did still like that tall stuffed look it had with those 36s, even if they only lasted me a few months

will some 305's fit a stock size rim? or are they too wide?

I wouldnt. A 305/75/16 is roughly a 34x12.50 and the general rule is you can run a tire that's 4" wider than the wheel at most. A x10 would be good but you could run it on a x9 or at least x8.

Stock rims are 16x7 correct?

305s should be just fine, ive seen alot of people run 285, 305 and 315 on stockers

when you start going to big and wide they sit a lil funny and wear the middle of the tread fast.....i would know

i ran 305/70/16s on 16x10inch rims with a TB crank and a 2inch block and trimmed a little bit. rubbed offroad but not driving.

I will have to doubble check but i'm 90% sure my hummer rims are the same width as stock. I wish they had more options for wheels between 33 and 35"

sorry to bring up such an old thread but I just bought a 92 gmcZ71 I plan on putting rcx 6 inch and 3 BL but i need new tires sooner than i plan on doing these mods so i was curious to see how big and wide can i go on a stock rim with out the lift OR cutting. would a 285/75/16 be my limit? sorry for such the NEWB question. and i appreciate the help.

No you are not limited to a 285/75R16. With a 6+3 the absolute smallest i would run would be a 315/75R16. With that much lift a 37" tire would look the best.
