Wow, I like how this has gone from cleaning to ****. We are men, that's for sure.

Muriatic acid. It removes anything organic (oil and crud in your intake is organic, it used to be a dinosaur, to put it simply). I use it all the time for work and it works great. I used it when doing my spider swap and it came out spotless. I soaked it really good and powerwashed the crap off. Use rubber gloves, since YOU are also organic!

Hey, if it doesn't burn your skin, it doesn't work hard enough!

I cleaned the external parts of the intake manifold with "Oil Eater - Super Degreaser" as well as a scraper, a couple wire wheel drill attachments and a lot of paper towel and compressed air. Interally it was fairly clean, so I just scraped off the left over gasket, cleaned mating surfaces with acetone and was done with it.
