Speedo is electronic on the new vehicles can be adjusted via computers...

Just to expand:

This works on 96+ gasser gmt400's only.

88-95 gassers and 88-2001 diesels use either and external DRAC/VSSB module or it's internal the the cluster itself. In order to adjust these, you need to manually move and solder jumpers. Or modify them with adjustable switches.

So next year I am planning a solid axle swap. I am planning using a ford 77-79 dana axle. Now how do I do the 6 lug conversion?

You will need the chev knuckles out and the outer axle stub shafts. The chev 10 bolt wont have a flattop passenger knuckle for x-over steering though, you will have to buy a aftermarket one, or look for chev dana 44 knuckles. Also the wheel studs are smaller, so can either drill out the rotors and install the larger metric studs or just run different sized lug nuts front and rear.

if your changing front and rear gears look at drivetrain specialists site(DTS)

i have a few questions also. im buying a trutrac from DTS through work, is the carrier included? or will the trutrac go into the open diffs housing or what?

also the u bolt pucks where do you get those? axle tubes for a 14 bolt and 10 bolt are different so i didnt think theyd be useable but if im wrong please correct me

I bought Ubolt plates to match the flip kit that came with my blocks from Blue Torch Fab. You can get u-bolts made (or buy the appropriate ones) for your axle, and while you're at it why not do a flip? Seeing guys that had their u-bolts rust out on them because those saddles caked with mud was enough for me.

No need to mess with the t-case. Just know your speedo will be off.

Then I would suggest leaving it alone. I think my plates were like 40 bucks, and the u-bolts came with a 2.5" block for $60.

Hey guys i am having a problem with my brakes. when i go to slow down some time the brake pedal will be hard, but other times it will work fine. I have replaced the booster about 4 months ago. I have been hearing a air sound coming from it, could it have went bad?
