Was using Valvoline Vr1 10w30 (Got enough for 3 oil changes for $25) with AC Delco filter, changed every 3000 miles. Now changing to Castrol Edge 10w30 with AC Delco filter, may try to run it out a bit further than 3k now.

Royal Purple 5W-30 and a K&N Filter.

Change it the first day of every new season, and the oil looks every bit as good coming out as it did the day I put it in.

I can't believe I haven't put my 2 cents into this thread, LOL!

In the truck I run Either Valvoline or Castrol 10w30, which ever is cheaper at the time. And I have had good luck with the Purolator and Fram high mileage filters. I change it every Spring after the winter and again in the fall before winter.

I don't put more than 7K a year on the truck, I also have 4 other cars to drive that get better gas mileage. But it gets used more in the winter months.

In the 01 SS, Mobil1 10w30 with Fram High mileage filter. Gets changed every 6K, The 86 SS gets changed every spring with 10w40 Valvoline and Napa Gold [wix] filter, The 95 Olds 88 gets changed once a year with 10w30 Quaker State [Gramps always insisted on that since it was new and I continue to follow his rules] And either a Fram or Purolator filter. The wife's Jeep gets Mobil 1 5w20 with a Purolator or Fram filter every 6K.
