I would keep the grill guard or find a different one but as tall as it appears to sit i dont think the grill guard will make a difference with deer

Duelly noted but the last run in I had with a dear, it jumped down from a bank and took out my windshield and both a pillars on a 77 chevy 2wd

Yeah, the only way to completely protect yourself from animals on the road is either a full cage or don't drive.

But the grille/rad being especially vulnerable I think the setup you have now would help quite a bit. I can't see any other guard working much better.

I like the look myself!
