Learn somthing everyday. Mines a 2000 and my dads is a 1997, both K2500's and its been a long time since I worked on an older one than them. Is it a bolt-on lower just for the K1500's or the 2500 and 3500 also?

If you have the original ball joints in the upper and lower, they are riveted in place. To quote another member on here, the lower rivets were designed and installed by Satan.

My 95 has the pressed in lower ball joints.

like I said 95 and later (which includes 1995 trucks) are press in lowers and 88-94 have riveted or bolted like EDS said the originals are all rivet in and the oem replacements are all bolt on. really hard to find a truck here in Canada with riveted in ball joint pretty much all of em have been replaced. And just so everyone is on the same place all 88-98 2WD trucks had rivet/bolt in upper ball joints and press in lowers!
