So probably the hardest part about SAS is getting the transfer case mounted and working it sounds like

Bolts up the same as my stock just drops on the opposite side?

the 90s square body blazers, k5, suburbans had 241 passenger drop tcases and still reetained the same VSS so yes bolts up the same, links to VSS the same, just linkage needs to be modified and the crossmembers need to be fabricated together.

If you go with a ford Dana 44 (78-79) it will be much easier, then you don't have to change the transfer case

the fact that its a 44 basically, if you can get a high pinin ford axle your way better off because you can lift a few inches more while maintaining a decnt driveline angle.

And can i swap axle shafts to run a chevy bolt pattern?
