Okay so my 97 Chevy 2500 is having issues starting.

I turn the key, radio comes on, all the lights work, but the gauges don't move. Turn the key, nothing. I've checked all the wires under the hood and at the starter, everything looks good.

Newer alternator
Brand New Battery Cable
Newer Battery

The wierd part, is after turning the key on and off a couple times, eventually all the gauge lights randomly pop on and the truck starts.

Any ideas?

Ingition switch, battery teminal, ground, battery itself? Those are my completely wild and uninformed guesses :) Had simliar problem on my 96 Yukon though so it's not competely BS - my problem ended up being the battery terminal.

Okay everyone, I took the cover panel off the steering column. Turned the key, slightly tapped the ignition switch box. Everything fired right up. Ignition switch it is.
