HVAC bulb replacement

I replaced all my dash lights with LEDs and had no problem doing so. Are the HVACs a similar process, just plug and play like the dash lights?
And how do I go about replacing other interior lights such as the power windows, power locks, 4wd push button, etc?
Also, I replaced the bulb in the glove compartment and cannot get the light fixture back where it is supposed to be. Any advice here?

The HVACs and other interior switches like windows, locks, etc are all lights soldered on to a printed circuit board. Basically, you have to disassemble the component to get to the board, unsolder the old one and solder in new SMD LEDs. Both the 88-94 A/C controls and 95-up A/C controls have bulbs that twist in, not soldered.

What year? My 95 has twist in bulbs.
