Hi!

I'm currently without a Chevy/GMC, but I owned a number of models, 1973-2004, always SWB standard cab, and always stick shift. The 1992-1998 models were my favorites - good, tight handling. So I found this on Autotrader:

http://www.randyadamsinc.com/web/used/GMC-Sierra-1500-Special-1993-New-Braunfels-Texas/1778914/

It's a 1993 SWB 5 spd 2 door with almost 200,000 miles. I'm 70, retired, with not a big income - there's a lot wiser things to do
than buy a 20+ year old vehicle. But I'm going to take a look at it. Someone talk me out of it, please!

I found this forum by an internet search. Previously, I had logged on to other forums where the 1988-1998 was just a sub-forum, and not much response. Now, I'll be spending a lot of time here.

Thanks.

Gene, way down in deep South Texas, Brownsville.

Welcome,

I would haggle the dealer down to atleast $2000 if they would take it. IMO $3,999 is just to much for a standard 93 with 200,000 on it, and that is just basing it off of your description and the ad itself. Who knows what "other" conditions could exist upon a thorough inspection.

I was thinking also in the range of $2,000. Max I would go is $2750.00 out-the-door including tt&l. It'll take several hours with the vehicle to figure out if there are issues. If they have a service history (which I doubt) that would help greatly. I do like the 1992-1998 SWB with the standard shift. Owned two of them, back in the days - very agile and sure handling.

Eh, I agree it's overpriced, 200,000 isn't a terrible amount of miles for these trucks, but you will likely always have some kind of project to do lol. I don't know that I'd even pay 2,000 for it, I'd imagine most trucks are rust free in your area.
