Might explain my fuel smell from the back. o_O Wouldn’t when filling up though it keep pumping? Or does it pressurize enough that it only leaks when removing the pump?
Yea it’s a small enough gap that the tank will fill enough to deactivate the fuel filler nozzle. Hopefully the hanger assembly is still held in with the lock ring and not just dangling around in there.

Take a flashlight with you next time you fill up. You should be able to at least see the general area of the leak from the wheel well.

Never thought of that. Keep one in the truck with me so I’ll check next time!
