fuel tank size????

Oddly similar usernames...

DRAGGIN95, i always had an idea, but never tested it...In theory couldn't we divide the fuel tank size (26 for us) by the number of ticks on the fuel gauge (don't know offhand) and use the trip meter to ballpark how many MPG's we are getting? Always wondered but never tried it.

I suppose if the sender's were more accurate, but as a lot of us have found out these fuel level sender is about as accurate as nothing, but in theory yeah it could happen.

even though they are 26 gallons i can have my truck spitting and spuddering but never be able to get more then 20 gallons in the tank:think:

i just go by the miles, fill it up, reset, and know you have around 300 miles before you run out
i swear i'll go almost 200 and the gauge still is above half
