Yeah, the picture I took of the plug (between the plug wires) is between the 6 and 8. So that is a spot I can put the sensor?

i usually use at least one pass of teflon tape on all sensors that go into the block, just on the threads as you probably know. if its too bulky it buckes up and its a mess so one neat pass across all the threads would do you fine.

That's the one,just make sure you hit it with some type of spray lube at least 24 hrs ahead and you need a good totally square 1/2" extension not a rounded out one or else you'll be using some weld rod too.Do it yourself.I had an extra set of hands that day,not good.The 3/8" plug got stripped.
No tape hear just put a little anti seize on the threads of the new temp switch.Never has leaked.
