Cruzzzzz Control quit

88 Sierra 4x4 5.7 TBI with manual trans
The cruse control has quit working so I need to know where it's at on the engine? DUH! Or firewall?
Feeling like an idiot today. Tired.

95% of the time it is the cruise stalk on the column. There are 4 tiny little wires in there and they break over time.

About 3" of the time it is the switch assembly itself in the stalk.

The last 2% is the rest of the system.

It can also be the brake switch. Early models were subject to tipping the brakes light on due to switch design and age. Brake light switch disables the cruise. Easy way to check is turn the truck on and see if the brake lights are on when not touching the brake pedal.

First thing to check is the fuse....
