that made me spit water... LOL... and if it still makes that clicking clacking sound, I'll go ahead and check for loose rockers.
yeahthat made me spit water... LOL
that made me spit water... LOL
Seriously though, good luck with the truck
Dude, I can be an ass, I'll give you that. Adhd, i know how difficult that can be, I'll give you that, Asking for advice then ignoring it, doing the exact opposite, or being argumentative about it is a different disorder I have also dealt with, with others. Clinical terminology escapes me at the moment. Myself and my ex were part of a respite program in MD. We watched Autistic, Asbergers, ADHD children one weekend a month to give families a break. Been around way worse and there was some training I had to participate in to have the kids in our house.
Dude... the heads are not "designed for flat tappet". They might have flat tappet valve springs in them, but probably not even the right ones for the cam you have. Generally you would be swapping out the valve springs to match the style and characteristics of the cam you put in it, whether that is roller or flat tappet. That's fine, but that doesn't mean you know me, nor what's going on in my head, so don't assume to. I'm NOT Autistic. I had to look up what Asperger's is and you spelled it wrong btw.
Dude, I do appreciate the advice, despite my "argumentative" reactions. It's not y'all. Lets suffice to say I don't like be told what to do/authority issues.
Anyway, go ahead and see the pics in the above post and laugh it the Hell up. I suppose next you all are going to say don't even re-adjust the valves and go straight for a new cam. Make it a roller cam this time. Yeah... NO. The heads i bought were designed for flat tappet, not roller. Converting the heads for roller cam is a whole other mess I DON'T want to get into.

The problem I see here is that you had the rockers walk off because you aren't running self-aligning rockers or guide plates. You need to have one or the other with the lack of pushrod guide holes that you would normally see with those stock style rockers and stock heads. There is currently nothing keeping the rocker from sliding right off the side of the valve stem since the pushrod is not retained in the proper location AT ALL with those heads.
You need to make sure that the lifters didn't get shot out of their bore when cranking it with no pushrod on it also.
I wasn't insinuating you had Autism or Aspergers(thanks for the correction btw) but I did realize after the way you treat people that there was an issue when people talked to you authoritatively. That's fine, but that doesn't mean you know me, nor what's going on in my head, so don't assume to.
