Plus you can always just go into the shop beforehand and tell them what you want and they should be able to give you a rough idea of what it would cost.

I just figured since you mentioned welds haha. So 2.25" pipe, SI/D0 flowmaster 40 muffler and I'm good to go. I also want to install this and I want the pipes to fit kind of snug next to it.

Damn thats cheap, I paid $300 for 3" piping from the cat back, mandrel bends, 4" tip supplied muffler and tip they did the rest, lowest price I found out here

Yeah, $60 around here might get you a muffler welded on haha

But would it help?

If you currently have 2.25" you won't see any benefit from doing the rest in 2.5". The inlets on 40s are 2.5" if I remember correctly, so you'll probably have to put an adapter.

Mine was 2.5" but as soon as I had it all cut off and had 3" done, my truck had incredible throttle response and seemed to generally run like a bat out of hell. But then again, my cat was pretty damn clogged up. Also 3" is going to open it up and allow it to breath very well. Especially if you plan on adding headers and a new y-pipe.
