A couple of heat Questions

Looking at buying a 98 GMC with a vortec 350. It has 2 issues, one the fitting on the intake for the heater hose is leaking, minor fix, does anyone know what the thread and nipple size would be to replace it?
Second the heat switch in the dash does not work, heat is on no turning the temp down, the fan and selector work but just cant put it to cold air for AC. Is this just needing the new heater switch unit?

Just pick up a 3/4 inch heater hose nipple from an auto part's store. The other could be the ac controller or possibly a blend door actuator.

3/4" thread, is it 3/4" hose or 5/8"? I cant find any markings on the hose on my 92
