96+ Vortec intake manifold

Are the intake manifolds different on vortec motors then regular sbc motors. I'm a hobby machinist and wanted to take a carb intake manifold and add some injector locations.
But I'm just unsure if the bolt pattern of the manifolds are different or what.

The vortec manifolds have four vertical bolts per side, as opposed to six angled bolts for the standard SBC. They also have taller ports, which would require some more welding and machining on the sealing surfaces. Quite an undertaking to convert, and probably not worth the effort given the availability of aftermarket intakes, but doable if you have the skills and resources.

You can get carb type vortec intakes with injector bosses in them already. About $300-$400
