Is there any difference between a 454 sending unit, 350 tbi sending unit, or 350 vortec sending unit? Only reason I ask is that all truck seem to be able to interchange pumps but all sending units are different prices.

Sending units depend on what tank you have for your application...

Sending units for a 31 gallon tank are all a different price. It was nuts.

I ordered the 454 sending unit and vortec pump with strainer.

You sure it's a 31 gallon tank?? Most all of them are 25 for the side tanks and a bit smaller on the rear tanks.... the suburbans are usually the ones with bigger tanks....

Yes, my 93 6.5 has the same tank. The mid ship tank is 22gal.

The tanks on my lml are the same volume too.

Basket Case is running!

Got the pump and sending unit in, it doesn't buck, bog down, stutter, and it fires up fairly quick now.

There was some pretty serious rigging done both in the tank and on the fuel return. I cleaned it up, the vent line was loose and the vent was actually T'd into the return line it was odd to say the least.

Also the sending unit was maybe 1" too tall, I got creative with my tubing Bender and got it in.

Now to get it set up as the farm service rig, fix the radio, fix the heat and air, and add cruise.

Is there anything else I should check that could be robbing what little power these make?

New plugs, wires, distributor, ect sensor, iac and egr cleaned, throttle body sprayed clean while running (not pulled and cleaned but will when I do tbi mods), new fuel and air filters, no vacuum leaks that I have found.

Anything else I can check or am I pretty well out of things to do until I pull the throttle body?
