As the title says, I got asked about adding OD to a buddies 88 1500 w/ 4 speed granny low. He wont be towing so a 3500 will work if I dont come up with a 4500. Truck is mostly stock.

What will swap over?

Clutch
Flywheel
Master Cyl
Slave Cyl (other than obvious 96 and up internal)
Anything I'm forgetting?

Found a 92 1500 parts truck, owner has no idea of trans.

from what i understand of the process, you want the clutch for the trans and the flywheel for that motor. i believe the master and slave are for the trans as well. may have to change the speedo unit, though i'm unsure if it is necessary

Ok so atleast be ready for a clutch, master, and slave. Not that expensive but every penny counts

BTW, I'll trade you my low mile 2000 Chevy K3500 Dually CCLB with built auto and super low miles for your NV4500 CCLB Dually!

It's just like swapping from an nv3500 to a 4500 my nv3500 blew up and I didn't have time to hunt down a nv4500 so I bought and sm465 and swapped it in directly and is the truck a 2x4 or 4x4 if 4x4 speedo is in tailshaft of transferase. And now the sm465 with 83k oringal miles on it is for sale cause I've found an nv4500

I have a spare nv4500 but I don't care how good of buddies I am with someone, that tranny is worth alot as a spare for when a hired hand eats a synchro.

Good to know, from what I've read the nv3500 clutch swaps to a 4500, the slave and line are the biggest change.
